From the base of our estate Swede Hill Vineyard, the view is as breathtaking as the season itself. Pinot Noir clusters soak up their final rays of sunshine, gaining those last touches of ripeness before harvest begins in a week or so.

We named this vineyard Swede Hill to honor the Swedish immigrants who once farmed and cared for this land long before Amaterra was built. Their legacy of stewardship continues to inspire every vine we tend today.

We’re currently serving our 2021 vintage of Swede Hill at our Portland tasting room and you can enjoy the Swede Hill grapes blended into our 2021 Willamette Valley blend at our Bend location. Come visit and have a taste!
Harvest is in motion, and the production crew is in the beginning stages of their busiest time of year! Trucks are backing into our driveway to drop off grapes almost daily, fermentations are beginning to take off and bubble with energy. In the cellar, barrels are being moved around to make room for what’s still to come.

Every pump-over, press, and barrel move is part of the rhythm of harvest — a season where precision, teamwork, and passion turn fruit into the wines you’ll be sipping on in the years ahead.

Come visit us and cheers to the magic of harvest!
Step into the heart of our winery during the most vibrant season of the year. The air is alive with the aromas of freshly crushed grapes and fermentations in motion — and we’re inviting you to be part of it.

Alongside our winemaking team, you’ll not only observe the artistry of production, but actively participate: learning about fermentation, participating “punch downs” and exploring our winery and its barrel rooms. This is your chance to help craft the very wines you’ll enjoy in the years to come.

The evening culminates with a feast on the terrace — a whole pig roast, seasonal dishes, and wines that celebrate the spirit of harvest.

Dear Amaterra Members, I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Operations at Amaterra. It is both an honor and a privilege to join such an esteemed organization known for its commitment to excellence in winemaking and hospitality.

With years of experience managing wineries across the renowned Napa Valley in California and the picturesque Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, I bring a deep passion for crafting exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence. My background has provided me with invaluable insights into both the art and science of winery operations, and I am eager to apply this knowledge to support Amaterra's continued growth and success.

I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Amaterra, sharing innovative ideas, and contributing to the vibrant culture that makes this winery and our restaurants standout destinations in Portland and Bend. Together, we can build on the strong foundation already in place and create memorable experiences for our members and guests.

I am excited about the journey ahead.
Warm regards,

Mark Beringer, Director of Operations
Meet the harvest team! This year's harvest will be led by Morgan White. After falling in love with wine and wine culture in Mendoza, Argentina, Morgan joined the wine industry as a sommelier in 2012. She studied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida, and Winemaking and Viticulture at Chemeketa Community College. Morgan began her professional journey with a harvest in New Zealand, then joined the Oregon wine industry as the Cellar Master for Apolloni Vineyards before becoming a vital part of the Amaterra team.

Harvest is her favorite part of the process: making important decisions in a crazy, fast-paced season that all eventually affect the finished wine, which sets the tone for the following year.

Come visit us and taste the wines Morgan has carefully made over the last few years!

We’re honored to be featured in Via, the AAA magazine as part of their Wine Country Reinvented story, written by Oregon-based travel writer and editor Casey Hatfield-Chiotti, whose passion for food, wine, and hospitality shines through every word.

“Wine regions are transforming themselves and expanding the wine varieties they grow.”

At Amaterra, we embody this spirit. While our vineyard is planted to Willamette Valley classics—Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—our winemaking stretches across the Pacific Northwest, sourcing Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and more to create a diverse, dynamic portfolio.

Come visit us! We would love to host you and offer a fresh perspective, a reimagined wine country, a place where tradition meets innovation. Reservations preferred but not required. Link is in our bio.
