Our production team is pretty cute, then and now! There’s a saying in the wine industry: you don’t choose wine, wine chooses you. We like to think that these kids were destined to be cork dorks.

Come sip on what our team has been hard at work on! We have lots of new wine coming to the tasting room and in the Spring 2026 club release. It’s a pretty special time to be at Amaterra.

Introducing one of the newest dishes on our menu and one that’s available for Portland Dining Month diners! Our Pan Seared Petrale Sole Medallions are gluten free with lemon-brown butter sauce, crispy sofrito rice, seasonal rabes, capers, and herbs.

We are so excited to already have some seasonal rabes available from the farmers we work with! Rabe refers to the edible flowering shoots of many brassica vegetables like kale, turnip, mustard greens or cauliflower. Often shooting from the soil before the rest of the vegetable is ready, giving us one of our favorite early spring treats.

Come in and visit us! We’re participating in Portland Dining Month all March long. No need for a social membership for this reservation, so if you’ve been waiting for the right sign to finally come up and try Amaterra, let this be it!

The question everyone’s asking: why are our tanks frozen? It’s all about stability.

We’re cold stabilizing our white wines—chilling them down so tartrate crystals (also known as “wine diamonds”) naturally form and can be removed before bottling. These tiny crystals are completely harmless, but this step in our winemaking process ensures your bottle pours beautifully and brilliantly clear later on.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes details that makes all the difference.

We’re officially counting down the days until these fresh, vibrant whites are bottled and headed your way for the Spring Club release.

Wine Club customization is live now—don’t miss your chance to secure these chilled delights before the March 31 deadline.

New wine alert!! The 2024 Gewürztraminer made with grapes from Wolf Hill Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills recently made it to our current wine selections. This windy area makes the vines work extra hard giving the grapes that grow here delicious resources.

This wine has aromas of candied orange, lemon, honeysuckle, lime salt, and melon. On the palate you’ll find flavors of kiwi, overripe pineapple, perfume, orange peel with notes of floral and spice. This wine isn’t sweet, but instead each glass envelopes you in a spring bouquet, perfect for sunny days like today.

Did you know Gewürztraminer pairs well with flavorful cuisines like Thai, Indian, or Moroccan? An excellent option for when you want dinner to be easy but elevated with takeout and a glass of 51Weeks Gewürztraminer.

Meet Hansel, our winery dog! Hansel is a three year old English Bulldog. He is so devoted to his mom, Morgan, that you feel the need to beg for his trust. He loves treats (anything will do, he isn’t picky), will play if you have a ball, and loves to observe our winemaking process.

Come visit and you may sneak a glance of Hansel through the office window.

From tank to bottle. Tonight in Portland, we’re tasting the tanks—sampling a vibrant lineup of white wines and roses as they wait to be bottled next month. It’s fresh, it’s behind-the-scenes, and it’s one of the most exciting ways to experience the winemaking process in real time.

Our barrel (and tank) tastings happen the last Tuesday of every month through August, each one highlighting different wines, vineyards, and stages of production. It’s your chance to taste wines before they’re released and connect directly with the production team. They can provide you with knowledge of how the vineyards were farmed, how they crafted the blends, and can walk you through everything from vineyard stats to fermentation decisions.

If you love the wines, this is how you get closer to them. Join us next month and be part of the process!

A little indulgence never hurt anyone. At Amaterra Portland, we’ve been quietly layering in a few delicious surprises. Case in point: our new White Truffle French Fries—the same crispy favorite you love, elevated with freshly shaved Oregon white truffle and served with harissa ketchup for just the right kick.

As the seasons shift, so does our menu. The specials card continues to be one of the most exciting parts of the experience—thoughtful, creative dishes inspired by what is most fresh and what’s inspiring our kitchen right now.

If it’s been a little while since your last visit, you may notice a few beautiful changes. And if you were here recently… well, there’s likely something new waiting for you.
