2021 PINOT NOIR
AMATERRA
GUADALUPE VINEYARD
DUNDEE HILLS AVA
WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON
Guadalupe Vineyard is in the Dundee Hills AVA, however, it has transitional soils such that most of the vines are in ancient marine sediment. The bright red fruit profile of this wine is framed with a pleasant spiciness from the inclusion of whole clusters in the fermentation. This Pommard-clone Pinot Noir is elegant in style and begs for a classic pairing with Pacific Northwest Salmon.
TASTING NOTES AS OF OCTOBER, 2024:
There are aromas of bramble, dried cherry, rosemary, earth, tart cherry, and rose petal. The palate has flavors of cherries and cream, pie spice, cola, and earth. It is slightly savory with sage and has pronounced minerality.
