2018 Éclater

The grapes – and the winemaker driving the truck – almost didn’t make it back to the winery because of the éclater! All ended well and there is another story to be told. This wine is a traditional blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grown at Destiny Ridge Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. Traditional winemaking methods and extended barrel aging create a wine with dark fruit flavors and layers of complexity.

• Very windy location on East end of Columbia River Gorge
• Elevation: 246-570 ft.
• Planted in 1998

WINEMAKING INFORMATION:

• 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 22% Merlot
• 6-8 day average cold soak
• Aged in oak barrels
• 7% new American, 14% new French
